Alternative Name 8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase
Background 8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase (OGG1) is a DNA repair enzyme that is involved in base excision repair and incises DNA at 8-oxoG residues. OGG1 is a bifunctional glycosylase, as it is able to both cleave the glycosidic bond of the mutagenic lesion and cause a strand break in the DNA backbone.
Pathways DNA Damage Repair
Application Notes quantitative measurement of OGG1 in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids.
