Alox12e (Arachidonate Lipoxygenase, Epidermal, ALOX12E)
Short Description: Non-heme iron-containing dioxygenase that probably catalyzes the stereo-specific peroxidation of free and esterified polyunsaturated fatty acids generating a spectrum of bioactive lipid mediators. May preferentially convert arachidonic acid to (12S)-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid/(12S)-HPETE. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:8798535, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9037187}.
