Background
- This gene encodes a zinc finger protein involved in the regulation of c-myc. The symbol MIZ1 has also been associated with PIAS2 which is a different gene located on chromosome 18. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].Transcript Variant: This variant (2) differs in the 5' UTR and 5' coding region, and uses an alternate splice site in the central coding region, which results in a frameshift, compared to variant 1. The encoded isoform (2) is longer and has a distinct N-terminus, compared to isoform 1.
