-
Characteristics
-
- These cDNA clones are isolated from full-length cDNA libraries and usually contain the coding sequence as well as the untranslated regions (UTRs) of the mRNA transcript appropriate to the library from which they were isolated.
- These cDNA clones are ideal for over-expression of native proteins for functional studies. Provided as 10 μg transfection-ready plasmids.
- Every lot of primer is tested to provide clean sequencing of cDNA clones.
-
Purification
- The DNAs were purified using PowerPrep HP Plasmid isolation kits for transfection ready plasmids.

Background
- The protein encoded by this gene binds thyroid hormone receptor beta in the presence of thyroid hormone. The encoded protein, a member of the HMGN protein family, is thought to reduce the compactness of the chromatin fiber in nucleosomes, thereby enhancing transcription from chromatin templates. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. There is a related pseudogene on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016].Transcript Variant: This variant (2) lacks an alternate segment in the 3' coding region compared to variant 1, which causes a frame-shift. The resulting isoform (HMGN3b) is shorter and has a distinct C-terminus compared to isoform HMGN3a.
