Characteristics
-
- These cDNA clones are isolated from full-length cDNA libraries and usually contain the coding sequence as well as the untranslated regions (UTRs) of the mRNA transcript appropriate to the library from which they were isolated.
- These cDNA clones are ideal for over-expression of native proteins for functional studies. Provided as 10 μg transfection-ready plasmids.
- Every lot of primer is tested to provide clean sequencing of cDNA clones.
-
Purification
- The DNAs were purified using PowerPrep HP Plasmid isolation kits for transfection ready plasmids.

Background
- This gene encodes a member of the neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) family. This kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signalling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation. Mutations in this gene have been associated with obesity and mood disorders. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, May 2014].Transcript Variant: This variant (b, also known as TrkB-T1) lacks several 3' exons but contains an alternate 3' terminal exon (exon 16 in PMID:11798182), and it thus differs in the 3' coding region and 3' UTR, compared to variant a. The encoded isoform (b) has a distinct C-terminus and is shorter than isoform a. The 5' UTR is incomplete due to a lack of 5'-complete transcript support for this variant, and because there is ambiguity in the 5' UTR splicing pattern.
