- The protein encoded by this gene is similar to mouse UIP28/UbcM4 interacting protein. Alternative splicing has been observed at this locus, resulting in distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].Transcript Variant: This variant (1) lacks exon 2, which contains a translation start codon used by variant 2. Instead, it uses an in-frame start codon in exon 1, resulting in isoform 1 that has a distinct N-terminus compared to that of isoform 2.
